It’s Saturday night, we’re at another gig and it’s “No conform!” and “Fuck the pigs!”
But there’s still all these unspoken laws and contests to see who’s most hardcore
There’s a bloke who looks like he’s had enough, staggering about, looking well tough
Swearing at the band – oh how fierce!
Did he lose his last brain cell when his dick got pierced?

To him anarchy means blagging the door, kicks and punches on the dancefloor
Getting more abusive as he gets more drunk, reckons it makes him a proper punk

We can do so much more than this or shall we just self destruct?
We could just say “Bollocks!” and go on the piss – yeah really punk as fuck

Then there’s those who allow themselves to be another product on the corporate shelves
Where punk is all about looking cool – the marketing men are laughing at the fools
For swallowing the years of media hype, trying to be a walking stereotype
What happened to the anger, where’s the passion in rebellion sold back as fashion?

So just how much do you care about the things on the T-shirts that you wear
You look like you know the score, but real change doesn’t come from a record store

We can do so much more than this or shall we just self destruct?
We could just say “Bollocks!” and buy more records – yeah really punk as fuck

Then there’s those looking moody at the back, uniformly dressed in black
Been there, done it, got the T-shirt but do they still have the will to really subvert?
Or has it all become just another routine, converted itself to a harmless scene
Where people have forgotten how to speak – a case of the ever-shrinking clique?

So will you stay quiet when they say punk’s dead or show we’re alive and kicking instead?
Despite all the shit that we’ve been fed – alive and kicking , punks not dead!
